Question by PeachCheeks: How can you achieve a Ducal Riverdale finish on furniture please?
I am seeking to change the finish of a pale pine wardrobe to compliment the rest of the bedroom set which is in Ducal Riverdale (Ducal Riverdale is now discontinued)
Those in the know will be aware that Riverdale looks like a creamy white matt wax (limed?) finish + you can see the grain of the pine underneath.
Grateful for tips on how to achieve the finish without making an expensive mistake on the wardrobe that currently looks like a sore thumb in our bedroom! (But it is just too expensive to just start over & buy a-new.) It is a pale undyed pine but wrong tone. The wardrobe is lightly varnished so I trust this will need sanding to prepare it for the new finish. But is the finish a wax, paint etc….? Step by step tips would be fantastic.
