Question by pikisina: When do you normaly start buying nursery furniture and baby clothes?
I am 12 weeks pregnant now, have had 1 m/c, so a little scared to rush, but I cannot wait to buy furniture to set up the room, start buying baby clothes….

I find tons of stuff on craigslist.org all the time. You just need to really look through the ads. Check the Antiques, furniture, general, and house hold sections for what you want. My experience is, if they didn’t post a picture they aren’t serious about selling it. Of course there’s always an exception.

I’ve been searching for a baby cot,pushchairs etc. at clearance price or bargain price on line but I would like to see the products before I buy them.

i have a wardrobe and draws bedroom furniture set which is dark green and brown coloured it is wicker and normal wood which has been varnished, i want to paint white to match my room but nt sure of the best way to go about it especially the wicker …

Would be very difficult to sand the varnish off wicker. I would suggest on the actual wood parts to sand those – but for the wicker, use a really good spray paint primer first, then spray paint over with your chosen colour.

I have a bedroom set thats old… i think, solid maple dovetail droors and it has hearts in the back of every piece of the set, comes with the bed 2 dressers and a mirror, and on the back of the mirror it says

Sorry, putting Semon Bache into a search engine comes up with Julus Semon Bache (1861 – 1944). There is quite a lot on him, but I can’t find the company you are looking for.

Question by Anya X: Where is the best place to sell an item worth over £2000 on the internet?
Hi all, I want to get rid of my bedroom furniture. The whole set, (dresser, king size bed, wardrobe and mirror) cost me around £5000, as it is made from real mahogany, and hand crafted in Italy.

So my questions are these:
1.Do you think ebay is a good place to sell something of this value?
2.How would I go about doing so, sell each piece individually or as a whole set?

I’ve only seen bedroom furniture sell up to around £700 on eBay, but I don’t think I can find anything which has sold for more… I know I won’t get £5000, but its only three years old and in very good condition!

Should I sell it on eBay with a reserve, how can i convince eBayers understand the quality of such items even without sounding too patronising?

….or should I try to sell it in the local newspaper? Gumtree…?

Try ebay … explain how valuable it is and set a reserve of close to a price you want for it.

Gumtree is also a good place to advertise and local papers you cant go wrong with !
